Seeds" is linked to our index page, while the link for "vegetable
seeds" is linked to our main seeds catalogue page, while "bulk seeds"
is linked to our bulk seed page and so on. Each respective link is linked
to it's own respective internal page.

Why trade deep links?: "Why would I want to trade links in this manner?" a few of you might ask. The answer is found in the very reason why most of us who are in the know exchange text links. To increase our Google Page Rank and to improve our search engine results! As most of us know, in order to achieve high search engine rankings, we not only need to optimize our web sites correctly, but we also need to obtain as many backward links to our own site as we can. For the most part, this works extremely well, but even for those of us who really do know what we are doing, it's never really enough. All of this is enough to make a serious and knowledgable webmaster tear his or her hair out simply because we all work hard for our results and there is nothing worse than feeling like you are banging your head into your keyboard! The ultimate problem boils down to backward links in that very few webmasters actually trade internal links, therefore while your index page improves in rankings, your internal pages are at a stand still in the searches. The remedy is to not only trade domain level links, but also internal links. If you want higher search engine placement for your important internal pages, obtaining deep links is the fastest and most reliable way to do it! If that's not enough to convince you, just consider the words of Dr. Jakob Nielsen, who is a a web entrepreneur and website usability guru that Fortune Magazine calls "one of the top ten minds in small business", while the Chicago Tribune denoted him as knowing "more about what makes Web sites work than anyone else on the planet". Dr. Nielsen is a big believer in deep linking and says the following about deep linking, mostly in response to Ticketmaster's outrage against people deep-linking to pages on their site: "Some Internet marketing managers just don't want hot leads to visit their website. I conclude this after hearing that website owners actually call search engine customer service departments complaining that users are daring to enter sites directly on pages they're most interested in. Most websites treasure ... direct and deep links, and pay dearly for affiliate programs that encourage other sites to send them targeted traffic. These sites understand what our study of e-commerce usability showed: Difficulties in getting from the homepage to the correct product page accounted for 27% of the failures (averaged across 20 sites). On average, better usability can double an e-commerce site's sales, so preventing deep linking would eliminate about a quarter of the potential sales from visitors arriving from search engines. Do you really know what you are talking about?: I'd like to think so, but as a matter of proof, the main target keyword of this website is "vegetable seeds". On Yahoo.com, this site and its new sister site (vegetableseed.net) are respectively #1 and #2 for "vegetable seeds" on Yahoo.com as of July 15th, 2005. Seedfest.co.uk is also #1 for "vegetable" on Yahoo and also #6 for "seeds". Meanwhile, Seedfest is also #1 on Google for "vegetable seeds", has an internal page in the mid 20's, is #7 for "vegetable" and #16 for "seeds". We also rank in the top 10 on Google, Yahoo, MSN and Altavista for nearly all of our targeted keywords and in many cases literally wipe the floor with our competitors for some searches. Take this search for "tomato seeds" on Yahoo,. for example where we have taken over 30% of the Top 10 results with #1, #2 and #6 (also pages at #15, #21, #35 and #44 that are now rising fast) . This is despite the fact that we are involved in an extremely competitive industry (we have THOUSANDS of online competitors) and are literally fighting tooth and nail against some global corporations who have many millions of dollars at their disposal to achieve search engine supremacy vs. our own relatively minuscule budget.
