At
this time, we have now ceased offering individual packets of vegetable
seeds with the exception of our famous heirloom tomato seeds. Due to the
current state of the economy, we are finding that the majority of our customers
are asking for sets of seeds that will allow them to grow enough vegetables
to help reduce the cost of groceries. We are now focusing on offering sets
of vegetable seeds to our customers at an affordable price that will allow
them to grow their own food. These sets of seeds are
also very storable and can be used over the course of several growing seasons.
Not only are these sets a great value in price compared to buying individual
packets of seeds, but the produce they will yield for you will give you
an even greater savings off your grocery bill. With this in mind,
at this time, we will no longer be offering individual packets of vegetable
seeds for individual sale with the exception of our heirloom tomatoes.
You can however, still browse through our seed pages to see what kind of
seeds we offer in our sets.

Red Acre Cabbage (Red Cabbage) Origin: USA Item #: CABBAGE002 The Red Acre Cabbage is a top notch variety of cabbage and in our opinion, is the best early Red Cabbage variety available today. This lovely cabbage variety produces stunning reddish-purple, globe shaped, heads that can add a striking beauty to your vegetable garden or a gorgeous color to meals. Each head reaches up 6 to 7 inches in diameter and typically weigh approximately 3 pounds. This flavorful cabbage variety is especially suited for use raw, cooked or in coleslaw and can add new life to otherwise dull meals due to its striking color and wonderful taste. Red Acre Cabbage is resistant to cabbage yellowing and is especially suited for small gardens as it takes up less space than other cabbage varieties. In particular, this variety stores better than just about any other early cabbage variety available and the heads will hold up for a long period in the garden before splitting or bursting. Matures in 75 days. Charleston Wakefield Cabbage (aka. Henderson's Charleston Wakefield Cabbage) Origin: USA Item #: CABBAGE003 Charleston Wakefield Cabbage, which is also known as Henderson's Charleston Wakefield is a short season cabbage variety originally introduced by Peter Henderson & Company in 1892. Subsequently, the variety has been popular among cabbage lovers ever since. Charleston Wakefield produces a larger head than other Wakefield Cabbages, with each head weighing about 4 to 6 pounds. Matures in 70 days and overwinters well. Considered one of the best cabbages for the South. Copenhagen Market Cabbage Origin: Denmark Item #: CABBAGE004 Copenhagen Market Cabbage is an early ball-head type heirloom cabbage that was originally introduced from Denmark in 1909. Over the last 95 years, this excellent old fashioned cabbage has established itself as favorite among gardeners and cabbage fans worldwide and has served as the model for all commercial cabbage varieties developed since. Copenhagen Market Cabbage is an excellent variety for the home gardener in that it is not only one of the best for the table, but is very hardy and adapts to a wide range of climates. This lovely cabbage produces a heavy yield of 4 to 5 pound, 7 inch round heads of cabbage. The compact growth of this variety allows for close planting and the maximization of existing space for the gardener with a small plot. The cabbage heads are of a blue-green color and of an attractive, fine quality with a solid construction that excells when used fresh or cooked. The interiors of the head are white and are ideal for making saurkraut. The leaves are tightly wrapped, so this variety will stand for a long time without splitting and stores extremely well. This wonderful heirloom cabbage matures in about 65 to 75 days. Danish Ballhead Cabbage Origin: Denmark Item #: CABBAGE005 Danish Ballhead Cabbage was a popular variety of cabbage during the 19th century. According to the Nebraska Seed Company's 1898 annual, Danish Ballhead had at that time: "been selected for more than fifty years by the Danish Gardeners, who grow it almost exclusively for winter cabbage and annually export large quantities." Danish Ballhead Cabbage is one of the absolute finest varieties for over-wintering and has been the cabbage variety most recommended by Canadian Seed Companies for their cold climate for the last 85 to 90 years. Produces 5 to 7 pound, blue-green colored round heads that are excellent for Sauerkraut, cooking or using fresh. Resists splitting and bolting and is excellent for most climates, especially those in the north. Matures in 90 to 100 days.
