this time, we have now ceased offering individual packets of vegetable
seeds with the exception of our famous heirloom tomato seeds. Due to the
current state of the economy, we are finding that the majority of our customers
are asking for sets of seeds that will allow them to grow enough vegetables
to help reduce the cost of groceries. We are now focusing on offering sets
of vegetable seeds to our customers at an affordable price that will allow
them to grow their own food. These sets of seeds are
also very storable and can be used over the course of several growing seasons.
Not only are these sets a great value in price compared to buying individual
packets of seeds, but the produce they will yield for you will give you
an even greater savings off your grocery bill. With this in mind,
at this time, we will no longer be offering individual packets of vegetable

Origin: Austria Item #: KOHLRABI001 Kohlrabi ( Brassica oleracea Gongylodes ) is a member of the Brassica family and is related to cabbage. The word "Kohlrabi" is adopted from the German and literally means " Cabbage Turnip " and has been grown in European gardens since at least 1500, with the first botanical description having been published in the 1550's. By the end of the 16th century, this wonderful vegetable was widely known in Germany, England and elsewhere. Kohlrabi was first introduced to the United States in the early 1800's. Early Purple Vienna is a standard home garden and market variety of kohlrabi originally introduced to the United States prior to about 1860 from Austria. The bulbs of this variety have a purplish hue with green white flesh and are larger than the Early White Vienna Kohlrabi, but are best utilized in the kitchen when they are about 2 inches in diameter. Kohlrabi is best harvested before it becomes large and woody. Kohlrabi is very high in Vitamin C and Potassium. Matures in about 55 days. Back to
